Birth

Peter's age varied quite a bit on records. In 1861, his age was given as 24 which seems unlikely since that would mean he was only 16 years old when he married in 1853. His age at death in 1894 was 63 so a birth date of about 1831. The 1871 census gave a birth date of about 1835. The age at death seems the most reasonable but it's a guess.

Marriage

Peter married Mary Wood in about 1853 in Stockton on Tees. ^[1]

1861 Census

Peter and Mary were living in Yarm or Middlesbrough in 1861. These places were in the North Riding of Yorkshire being south of the River Tees but for some reason shows up as County Durham in searches. ^[2]
