Captain Stephen Barton Junior was born in 1774 in Oxford, Worcester, Massachusetts. He was the son of Stephen Barton and Dorothy (Moore) Barton.[1] He married Sarah “Sally” (Stone) Barton. Together, they were the parents of the famous Clarissa "Clara" Barton, the founder of the American Red Cross. Captain Stephen Barton Junior was a businessman, selectman, and leader of his local militia in Oxford, Worcester, Massachusetts. He passed away in 1862 in Oxford, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States.
