Jacques Philippe was a chevalier (knight), the Seigneur de Montaiguillon et de Villenaux (Lord of Montaiguillon at Villenaux) and secretary of Monsignor de Villemontet. In addition, he was an advisor in the King's Councils and Intendant of the provinces of Poitou, Aunis and of the islands of the Loire and Garonne. [1]
He married Renee Pestre, the widow of Jean Valon on 28 June 1647 in Poitiers, France.[1] He died before his daughter left for New France.[1]
He had died before his daughter Francoise-Marthe married.
