Biography
Leland was born in California in 1898, the son of William and Lena Barton.
Leland S. Barton, 21, married Helen M. Grieve, 18, on Christmas Day 1918 in Long Beach, California. It was the first marriage for both parties. Both Helen and Leland were Long Beach residents. Leland was born in California, and his parents, William T. and Lena (Hunter) Barton were both born in Indiana. Witnesses were R.P. Dolley and Mary G. Grieve, both of Long Beach. The Rev. George P. Taubman, of 1125 Elm Ave, Long Beach, officiated. [1]
Leland died in 1963, aged 64-65. He is buried with his wife Helen in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Cypress, Orange, California. His grave marker is inscribed, “Beloved husband and father.” [2]
