Frances Barton was born in 1878 in St Helens. She was the daughter of James Barton and Mary (Watkinson) Barton. She was christened April 7th 1878 at St Nicholas church in Sutton (Anglican). Her father, according to the christening record, was a labourer.
By 1881, Frances' father had become a grocer and baker.
Frances married William Garner on January 3rd 1898 at St Helens Church (Anglican). By 1901 William was working as a journeyman baker, and the couple had two children. By 1911, they still only had the two daughters, and William was still a journeyman baker. A son, William Arthur, was born in 1916.
William probably died in 1949. Frances died in 1955 at the age of 77.
