William was born in 1834. He was the son of Thomas Barton and Mary Berry. In 1856, he married Narcissa Champan in Henry County, Georgia. He passed away in 1909 and is buried at Tanners Road Baptist Church Cemetery, Conley, Clayton County, Georgia.
