Barbara Barton was born on 21 April 1840 in Bohemia, Austria. Her parents were Joseph Barton and Katie Kosron(?), both of Austria.^[1]

Barbara married John Schimmel. They had several children:

Death

Barbara passed away at age 78 on 16 November 1918 in Canaan Township of Gasconade County, Missouri, possibly from pulmonary tuberculosis. She was buried on 20 November at the Old Catholic Cemetery near Owensville, Gasconade County.^[1]
