Biography

Mary Barton was born about 1846. She was the daughter of George Barton.^[1]

On 1st February 1869 Francis Green (20, collier), son of Joseph Green (farmer), married Mary Barton (23), daughter of George Barton (labourer) at St George's Church, Sutton (near Macclesfield), Cheshire.^[1][2]

Mary died before the 1871 Census which lists her husband Francis J Green as a 22 year old widowed farmer, living in Adlington, Cheshire with his son (William, 2), parents, siblings William Goodall (25), Elizabeth J (17) and James (13), and his maternal grandparents (Elizabeth (78) and Lawrence Crane (81).^[3]

Mary Green died on 13 January 1870 at Prestbury, Cheshire. She was 24 years old.^[4]
