Biography
William Barttelot was born in 1504 at Stopham, Sussex, England. He was the son of Richard Barttelot and Elizabeth Gates. He married Anne Covert, daughter of William Covert and Jane Corke, in 1529 at Ernley, Surrey, England.[1]
He died on 11 June 1601 at Ernley, Sussex, England.
In 1588 Subscribed to the Armada.

"Here lyeth William Barttelot Esqre who took to wife Anne Covert, by whom he had issue Robert Barttelot, and departed this life the 12th June, 1601, after he had lived 97 years. Whose soul restethe with God."
Pedigree in the same publication (pg 52) shows William and Anne as having only 1 son - Robert (and 2 daughters.) Robert is shown as having a son Richard who was heir to William - which is where the son Richard currently attached to William may come from (?)
