2) Edmund Barttelot was born in 1539 at Ernley, Sussex, England.1 He was the son of William Barttelot and Anne Covert.1 He married Elizabeth Gore, daughter of Richard Gore, in 1567 at Ernley, Sussex, England. He died in 1591 at Stopham, Sussex, England. (The manor of Earnley was held by the family between 1495 when it was acquired by an Edward Barttelot and 1561 when a different Edward Barttelot sold it to George Fenner.)[5]
