From the Patent Records in the Land Office in Annapolis, Md., Liber No. 7, Folio 520, It is recorded that John Barwick came to Maryland in the year 1664. There is no account of the age of John Barwick, or when he died, but there is much evidence that from him sprung a worthy people even to this day. His place of settlement was in Talbot county, Md., Easton now being the county seat. As early as 1669 he and another party bought a tract of 800 acres known as the Normanda, the price being 9,000 pounds of tobacco. (Barwick p. 12)
While he left no will, it is known that he left three sons whose names were John Jr., William and Edward.
