Peggy was born in 1941. She was the daughter of Joseph Barwick and Edna Avins. She passed away in 2021.
- Peggy Avins, 79, wife of Carol W. Avins for 61 years, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter.
Born in Sumter on Oct. 15, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Berley Barwick and Inez Laws Barwick.
Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family, reading her Bible and listening to music.
Surviving are her husband of Sumter; three sons, Ronald Avins, Michael Avins and Danny Avins, all of Sumter; a daughter, Wendy Prebish of Sumter; two sisters, Bonnie Davis and Victoria Holbrook, of Sumter; a brother, Joe Barwick, of Sumter; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many friends who will miss her dearly.
