Allen was born about 1798 in Sampson County, North Carolina.[1] He is the son of Andrew Bass and Rebecca Pate. He passed away after 1850 in Barbour County, Alabama.
Allen married Frances Tew about 1820 in North Carolina. No marriage record has yet been found. They had children (some birth years estimated; not all children confirmed):

There are five land Patents issued to Allen Bass and Allen G Bass in Alabama between 1840 and 1858. Three are issued to Allen G. Bass in Russell County, Alabama in 1840. He appears to be a different individual than this Allen Bass.
Two other patents were issued to Allen Bass: 39.99 acres in Coffee County, Alabama on 1 June 1845; 40.08 acres in Barbour County, Alabama on 1 November 1858. These last two patents could be for this Allen Bass. He was on the census in Barbour County, Alabama in 1840 and 1850.
