Biography

These words were entered in Margaret Bass's Bible by her own hand: "Mack David Laurence died 16 Dec 1928, aged 54 years, 3 months, and 21 days. His wife, Margaret Elizabeth was 50 years and 5 days old. Death separated them. Mack David Laurence was laid to rest in Silver Creek Cemetery on 17 Dec 1928. Rev. Henry Cain read Psalm 91 and preached his funeral. Songs sung: 'My Daddy's Gone to Heaven' and 'What a Friend We Have in Jesus'."

Notes

It is important to note that some of the children spell their name Lawrence, while others use the spelling Laurence. This was not unusual occurrence in the earlier days when record keeping was not as precise as it is today. Often the official making the entry spelled it the way it sounded, and if not corrected, that particular use was continued. Therefore, in this family, we have tried to use the spelling Laurence or Lawrence by family preference today, hopefully without offending anyone. The list of births taken from the Bible was copied as written, however each child's individual write up will be changed to correct usage.
