He was the son of Arthur Francis Basset and Rebecca Harriet Buller Salusbury-Trelawny.[1]He was born on the 30th of November 1898, at Schidy Illogan, Cornwall, England.[2]He married the Lady Elizabeth Legge, daughter of William Legge, 7th Earl of Dartmouth and the Lady Ruperta Wynn-Carington, on 31 October 1931[1]at Kensington, London, England.[3]He died in 1972 at Newbury, Berkshire, England.[4]
