Biography

Walter Charles Batchelor was born in Peckham, London, England^[2] in 1897^[1]. He was the son of Jane Batchelor, née Siggers, and Charles Batchelor, a carman. Charles died, aged only 39, when Walter was about 13, and Jane worked as a collar machinist^[3] to support her young children.

Walter probably married Elsie Brown in Camberwell in 1923^[4].

Walter died in Surrey in early 1965, aged 67^[5].
