Dorothy Bate (aka Batts or Battes) was christened on February 19, 1603, at St. Peters church in Gowts, a parish of the town of Lincoln, Lincolnshire, in England. She married Theodore Daubney (later Dabney), of Scotter, Lincolnshire, on April 20, 1630. They had a son, Cornelius Dabney (aka Daubney), christened December 11, 1630, in Scotter Parish, Lincolnshire, England.
Theodore and Dorothy Daubney emigrated to the colony of Virginia with their son Cornelius around 1650-52 and settled in New Kent County, one of Virginia colony's original 8 shires or counties. Cornelius married Edith Moryson (aka Morrison), daughter of Colonel Francis Moryson, a career soldier and colonial administrator, in Virginia about 1653 to 1655. Theodore Daubney died ca. 1657 in New Kent, Virginia. Dorothy Bate Daubney died ca. 1679, also in New Kent, Virginia.[1]

Dorothy daughter of Humfrey/Humphrey Bate baptized 18 FEB 1603/04 St Peter at Gowts, Lincolnshire was buried 29 JUL 1605 St Peter Gowts so she is not the Dorothy that married Theodore; she could still be a daughter of Humfrey but unlikely as I went line by line looking for another Dorothy in the parish book and did not see another daughter of Humfrey after this daughter died, of course they may have moved to another parish but no luck so far. I'll update if/when I find the Dorothy Batt that married Theodore.
Dorothy and Theodor's 1629 marriage lists Dorothy's father's name as George, though I haven't found a baptism of a Dorothy daughter of George. It's possible she was born in another county? I'm not particularly active on WikiTree, I mostly use it as a resource to help with my genealogy by looking at the tree, but my Ancestry username is leilaruthe_meow.
Batte-185 and Bate-412 appear to represent the same person because: same husband and son, dates are same/similar, alternate spelling of name, see explanation on Bate-412
