Catherine Juliana Bateman was born on the 10th of November 1796 and was baptised at Holy Cross Church at Ilam in Staffordshire on the 23rd of February 1797, [1] daughter of Sir Hugh Bateman Bart. of Hartington Hall in Derbyshire, [2] and his wife, Temperance Gisborne. [3]
Her husband succeeded to the Baronetcy of Great Barr and inherited the estate at Great Barr Hall on the death of his father on the 17th of June 1828. [2] Sir Edward was a Member of Parliament for Lichfield in Staffordshire for six years from 1831-1837. [2]
Catherine died on the 4th of August 1848. [2][5] She was buried at St Margaret's Church at Great Barr on the 10th of the month. [6]
