William Bateman was a son of Robert Bateman, Citizen and Skinner of London.[1][2]
William Bateman married Mary Harris [Herris] the widow of John Rivett.[1]
Marriage Licence:[3]Bateman, Sir William, knight, of St. Dunstan-in-the-East, widower, about 49, and Mrs. Mary Rivett, of All Hallows Staining, widow, about 27 – at St Dunstan-in –the-East, All Hallows Stayning, All Hallows Barking, or St Margaret Pattens. 1 Jun 1663.
The marriage took place on 16 Jun 1663 at St Dunstan in the East, City of London.[4]
The will of Edward Herrys Esq of Shenfields [in Margaretting, Essex], dated 28 Mar 1674 and proved in 1676, noted his daughter Bateman and her husband Sir William Bateman.[5]
