Lucy was born in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England, in 1892.^[1] Her birth was registered in the fourth quarter. She was the daughter of George Bateman and Julia Goodwin. She was baptized on October 5, 1892, in Birkenhead, at Holy Trinity.^[2] She was enumerated in the 1901 census ^[3] as an eight year old residing with her parents and six siblings in Birkenhead.

Lucy passed away in 1909.^[4] Her death was registered in the second quarter in Birkenhead. She was sixteen.
