Clement was born about 1623 (based on his being age 12 on a passenger list in 1635) in an unidentified town, probably in Kent, England. His parents had moved away from Lydd by this time (he wasn't baptized there) and had yet to arrive in Biddenden, where his siblings were baptized starting in 1624.
He drowned in 1639.[1]
Ruth, widow of Clement, in a petition to the government of the colony, stated that she had two sons, Clement and Solomon. They had served with Captain Lothrop when "the flower of Essex" (Battle of Bloody Brook aka King Phillip's War was fought on September 18, 1675) was slain, that Clement was known by the Indians soon after at Westfield, where she pray Solomon might be discharged.[2]
