Note:I'm still not 100% sure this is the right Frank Bates, but everything appears to follow that direction.
Birth, Baptism, & Family
Birth
Frank Philetus Bates was born 07 Aug 1885, to George Franklin Bates and Lydia Alice Canady in Davis City, Decatur, Iowa.[1]
Baptism
Frank was Christened in Decatur, Iowa, but the exact church has not yet been located, nor has the exact date of the Christening.[2]
Family
Frank was the eldest of five (5) children. In 1900 he and his family were living in Decatur Township, Decatur, Iowa.[3]
Marriage
Frank married Grace Booton (Booten), possibly in Colorado, but the only record found states that Frank Boles (last name is different) and Grace Booten. At some point I thought I found that the had moved to Pennsylvania. However, I haven't been able to find that information again.
According to the 1910 US Census, they had been married approximately 3 years and were living in Loveland, Larimer, Colorado.[4]
According to his death certificate he was a Boiler Maker. According to family lore he did different odd jobs here and there.
Death
Frank passed 10 Aug 1959, in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada and was cremated at the Royal Oak Funeral Chapel in Burnaby. While it is true that his son Arthur (aka "Byron") was the informant for the information on Frank's death certificate, it is claimed that no one claimed his ashes from the Funeral Chapel.[9][10]
