Biography

John was born in 1724.[1] He is the son of Nicholas Bates and Martha UNKNOWN.

He married Esther Banks in 1752 in Fairfield.[2]

In 1786, his estate distribution was set out to Ezra (eldest son), John, Ruth, wife of Enos Lee, Sarah, Esther, Aaron, and Nathan.[3]

Bates-12273 and Bates-7149 appear to represent the same person because: They appear to be the same person. They were married to the same person, and the son listed is in John Bates distribution info in 1786 along with other children.
