Biography

John was born in 1724.^[1] He is the son of Nicholas Bates and Martha UNKNOWN.

He married Esther Banks in 1752 in Fairfield.^[2]

In 1786, his estate distribution was set out to Ezra (eldest son), John, Ruth, wife of Enos Lee, Sarah, Esther, Aaron, and Nathan.^[3]
