Biography

Marriage

Henry BATES of Albion married Hannah UDELL of Markham on 30 Nov 1846 in Home District of Ontario. Witnesses to the marriage were William Udell and James Bamlo.[1]

Death

Henry Bates died on 3 Mar 1905 in Geneva, Midland, Michigan, USA. At the time of his death, he was 87 and a widow. The record suggests that he was the father of 8 children, 7 of which were living at the time of his death. The record also states that he was born in the United States, and his father was John Bates who was born in England. The primary cause of his death was old age.[2]

NOTE: Crossed out on the record is information pertaining to Henry's mother. It is written that his mother's maiden name was Mary White who was born in Scotland.
