Allen Bathurst is Notable.

Allen Bathurst son of Benjamin Bathurst and his wife, Frances Apsley was born on 16 November 1684. He was educated privately by Abel Boyer then at Trinity College, Oxford.[1]

He succeeded his father on 27 Apr 1704 [2] and on 6 July that year he married Catherine Apsley, daughter of Peter Apsley and his wife, Catherine Fortrey, who bore him 4 sons and 5 daughters. [1] Allen and Catherine were cousins, both being grandchildren of Allen Apsley and Frances Petre.

Returned to Parliament as member for Cirencester in 1705 he retained the seat in 1709 and sat until he was created Baron Bathurst on 1 January 1712.[1]

On 27 August 1772 he was created Earl Bathurst of Bathurst. [1]

He died on 16 Sept. 1775 and was buried at Cirencester.[1]
