Biography

Caroline was born on the 24th November 1875 the daughter of William Batt and Sarah (Porter) Batt, and her birth was registered in the 1st quarter 1876 in Clifton, Bristol, Gloucestershire.[1][2][3]

1881 Census on the 3rd April 1881 Caroline was living at 5 Avon Street, Bristol with her parents William Batt and Sarah, and her siblings Elizabeth, William, Rosina and Thomas.[4][5]

1891 Census on the 5th April 1891 Caroline, a tobacconist, living at 29 Avon Street, Barton Regis, Gloucestershire with her parents William and Sarah, and her siblings William, Rosina and Thomas.[6][7]

Caroline married Thomas Joshua Blackmore and her marriage was registered in Barton Regis in the 1st quarter 1897.[8]

1901 Census on the 31st March 1901 Caroline, shown as Clara, was living at 45 Lincoln Street, Bristol with her mother Sarah and her brother Thomas. Also living there were Caroline's husband Thomas J. Blackmore and their daughter Rosina D. Blackmore.[9]

1911 Census on the 2nd April 1911 Caroline was living at 40 Herbert Street, Bedminster, Bristol, Gloucestershire with her husband Thomas, and their children Rosina, Percy, William, Joshua and Harold. Her mother Sarah was also living there.[10][11]

1939 National Register on the 29th September 1939 Caroline, a widow, was living at 90 Whitehouse Lane Bristol, Gloucestershire.[3]

Caroline died aged 68 and her death was registered in the 1st quarter 1944 in Bristol, Gloucestershire.[12][13]
