He was the son of George Batty and Encora Woodcock. [4]

He served in the Blackhawk War in Capt. J. Andrus' Co. Cavalry, military Service Branch, Utah Territorial Militia. [5]

He passed away in 1918 in Utah, United States. [6][7][8]
