John R Baucom, son of Mary Baucom, was born on 5 October 1843. His birth was entered in the records of Pleasant Grove Church.[1] The church is in Marshall County, Tennessee, where John was living with the John Bawkem[sic] family in 1850.[2] The family moved away after 24 July 1853 when his mother applied for and received a letter of dismissal and recommendation from the church.[3] John died in 1859 at about age 15 and has a gravestone in Temple Hill Cemetery, Almo, Calloway County, Kentucky.[4]
Research Notes
Some researchers show his middle name as Rixcery[5] However, Rixcery was enumerated with the family in the 1850 Census as nine year old female born in Tennessee.[6]
Death date?
Some researchers say that he died on 29 April 1859 in Calloway, Kentucky, USA.[7]
