DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Moses by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Moses:
Bauers Bowers-1 and Bauer-6245 appear to represent the same person because: Same wife, same marriage, same parents -- a duplicated part of a family tree. Merge to the name Bauer.
Bower-1764 and Bower-3964 appear to represent the same person because: Same person, same wife. The Birth years shown in the two profiles differ by a couple years. Moses was born in Württemberg, in the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation (now Germany). Both profiles should have as 'Surname At Birth' either the dialectual form BAUR or the standard german BAUER (which is his name on his baptism and marriage records), but not 'Bower'. 'Bower' can be placed in one of the other spaces provided, such as Current Last Name, or Other Last Name, if he actually used this anglicised form after emigrating. Bowers is an even later variant, which arose due to a misreading of handwritten U.S. Census and other records, where the last letter r ends with upward and downward curls which can be mistaken as an s. This person is a direct forefather of my recently deceased half-brother Jeffrey Bardin, and his sons: hence my interest.
