Abraham and son Maurice 'Morris I, and Maurice 'Morris' II, are listed in "A general List of the Names of the Taxable Inhabitants of Currituck County, with the Several Sums Each person is rated in the Assessment Books. To which is Added a List of the Married and Single men that pays a poll Tax by Law.

Last Will & Testament

In the name of God amen I Abraham BAUM of the precinct of Corrotuck in The province of North Carolina Being sick & weak of Body but of perfect and Sound mind and Memory thanks be to God for it Calling to mind the mortalaty of my Body & Knowing it is appointed for all men once to Dye Do make ordain Constitute and appoint this to be my last will and Testament in Manner & form following principally and first of all I Recommend my soul into the hands of almighty God who gave it me & my Body to the Earth to be Decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executrix hereafter named and as for my worldly Goods
I Give and Bequeath the plantation & Land Belonging to it which I now Live on and the Land I Bought of Jonathan JARVIS, to be Equally to my two Sons Peter and Maurice BAUMS, the Plantation to Remain in my son Peters possession and my Son Maurice to have his priviledge to Build & Settle on Rest of the Sd. Land Except where the Plantation now is and the said Land to be Equaly Between my two Sons Afsd., and the heirs of their Bodys Lawfully Begotten forever and if Either of my Sd. Sons Peter or Maurice should die without Lawfull Issue as Aforsd. the part of the land Belonging to Him that Shall So Decease to fall and be to the next [?] Sons in age and their heirs as aforsd.
Item I Give and Bequeath to my two Sons John & Adam BAUMS The Plantation and Land Belonging to me on the Sandy Banks to them and the heirs of their Bodys Lawfully Begotten forever in the same Manner & form as the other Land Given to my other two Sons Peter and Maurice
Item I Give and Bequeath to my Sons Peter Murice John & Adam BAUM To of them one heifer and [?] as to them & their heirs forever
Item I Give to my Daughter Mary BAUM one two-year-old heifer & her Increase to her and her heirs forever
I Give and Bequeath to my Daughter SARAH Baum one Cow Calf to be out of my Stock the first that shall fall after the Date period of her increase to her & her Heirs forever
Item I Give & Bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth BAUM one Cow Called Good luck and her future Increase to her and her heirs forever
Item I Give & Bequeath to my Loving Appolonia BAUM all the Remaining part of my Estate Both Real & personal after my just Debts are paid & Satisfied to her & her heirs forever I also appoint my Loving wife Appolonia my whole and Sole Executrix of this my Last will & Testament Revoking all other wills or Testaments by me heretofore made and this to be my last will and Testament afsd. witness my hand & Seal this 18th day of September in the year of our Lord Christ 1729
