CANTON, IL - H. Ruth Lidwell, 80, of 350 N. Sycamore Tr. Canton, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 11:04 pm at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.

Born April 1, 1926, in Bryant, IL, to Jay and Myrtle (Shuck) Baum, she married John Lidwell on June 16, 1946 in Lewistown. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, John (Theresa) Lidwell Jr. of Farmington; two daughters, Sherry (Bill) Waddill of Galesburg and Carol (John) Hubbard of Dunfermline; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two brothers, Bill Baum of Tacoma, WA and Jerry (Sandy) Baum of Canton.

Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers and one sister.

She was the co-owner of Lidwell Jewelry in Canton for 42 years. She was of the Christian faith. Ruth was a life-long bowler, a volunteer at Graham Hospital and was a member of the Canton Country Club. She was also an avid gardener.

Services will be Monday, Jan. 29th at 11:00 am at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, Canton with Rev. Matthew Keith officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 28th from 3 to 5 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Canton. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or donor's choice.
