Katharina Ann Bausbach was born in Baden Germany 14 April 1833. She is the daughter of Anton Bausbach & Rosina SchmittShe migrated to the United States with her 1st husband's family aboard the Chace in September 1856 from Baden to New York, settling in Virginia.
After the Holland family plantation was taken by the union they settled in Falls Church on a farm they purchased until moving to Chicago IL in about 1885. The Hellmuth children remained behind in VA where they continued to run "The Hellmuth Bros. Butcher Shop" which was their family business. All her boys learned the family trade and were all butchers. William opened Holland and Sons in Chicago and Albert and Louis ran it. Catherine passed away on Sept. 13th 1898 and was buried at Mt. Olivet.
