Biography

Sarah Helme was the wife of Robert Helme, West India merchant. Sarah's residence was stated as "Nevis".

In 1683/4 Sarah travelled out to Nevis to join her husband against the advice of her brother-in-law, William Freeman. Several letters between William Freeman and Robert Helme suggest that in William's opinion, Robert did not treat her considerately.[1]

During 1687-1691 William Freeman became embroiled in a lawsuit brought against Sarah Helme by creditors of her dead husband.[2]

Bap. 31 May 1655,
Married lic. 1680 aged 28
Will dated 4 October 1687; proved 17 May 1690 (72, Dyke)
