Elihu Baxter served with Bedel's New Hampshire Regiment, Continental Army during the American Revolution.

son of William Baxter

April 4, 1776 enrolled in Capt James Osgood's Co, Col Bedel's Regt NH troops September 177 re-entered in Col Peter Olcott's Reg, Gen Gates army

He is listed among the members of Capt. James Osgood's Co. in Col. Bedel's Regt. in 1776. As a Private he received two months wages, 40s bounty, 15s blanket money, and 1 d per mile billeting. On Apr. 4, 1776 he was given 4.16.10..[1]


Capt. Timothy Bush's company under Col. Peter Olcott at the time the enemy came to Royalton Oct 16, 1780.

Payroll of a company of militia under the command of Lt. James Smalley, employed in guarding at Stratford at the time of the alarm at Newbury, under the direction of Col. Peter Olcott, of Norwich Oct. 24, 1780.

He married Tryphena Taylor on December 19, 1776
