The wedding was celebrated Wednesday of Irene Margaret, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Miller, of "Craigmore," Herne Bay, who became the wife of Kenneth Robert, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Selwyn Miller, in the absence of her father who is in England, wore ivory chiffon taffeta with vine leaves and chrysanthemums of silver. The frock was petalled and had bouffant panels of exquisitely worked silver embroideries, the hems being of transparent tulle. ....the trio of attendants were her sisters, Kathleen and Nancy, and her niece, little Dawn Miller. ... The best man was the groom's brother, Mr. Jack Baxter, Mr. Hilton Jackson acting as groomsman, and the two ushers were Messrs. Maurice O'Connor and Haldane Miller. A large reception was held at "Craigmore," Argyle Street, the house being beautifully decorated in pink roses and wisteria. The marquee was a veritable fairy land with hanging baskets of ferns, numerous palms, festoons of pink, gold and blue electric lights and pink sweet peas, hyacinths and larkspur in crystal and silver stands. Mrs. Miller received the guests in a black lace and georgette ensemble suit, the coat having narrow accordion pleated frills and a black tagel and net hat, with ospreys and rose.
