BAXTER. —On April 20, at her residence, Shelly Beach Road, the wife of J. W. Baxter of a son. (This is his paternal grandmother's address).
According to his Army file, he suffered a chest injury when he was five years old, falling from a verandah. The Army recorded "Deformed chest". When he enlisted he was 20 years old, 5 foot 10 inches in height, weighed 9 stone 10 pounds had a dark complexion, brown eyes, brown hair and was of the Anglican faith.

BAXTER—MILLER.—On October 17, at St. Stephen's Church Ponsonby, by the Rev. Barton. Kenneth Robert, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Baxter, Devonport, to Irene Margaret, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Miller. Herne Bay.

The wedding was celebrated Wednesday of Irene Margaret, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Miller, of "Craigmore," Herne Bay, who became the wife of Kenneth Robert, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Baxter, of "Allenby," Devonport. St. Stephen's Church was beautifully decorated for the occasion with pink sweet peas, palms and white lilies by the friends of the bride. The Rev. Frazer Barton officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Selwyn Miller, in the absence of her father who is in England, wore ivory chiffon taffeta with vine leaves and chrysanthemums of silver. The frock was petalled and had bouffant panels of exquisitely worked silver embroideries, the hems being of transparent tulle. ....the trio of attendants were her sisters, Kathleen and Nancy, and her niece, little Dawn Miller. ... The best man was the groom's brother, Mr. Jack Baxter, Mr. Hilton Jackson acting as groomsman, and the two ushers were Messrs. Maurice O'Connor and Haldane Miller. A large reception was held at "Craigmore," Argyle Street, the house being beautifully decorated in pink roses and wisteria. The marquee was a veritable fairy land with hanging baskets of ferns, numerous palms, festoons of pink, gold and blue electric lights and pink sweet peas, hyacinths and larkspur in crystal and silver stands. Mrs. Miller received the guests in a black lace and georgette ensemble suit, the coat having narrow accordion pleated frills and a black tagel and net hat, with ospreys and rose. Mrs. Baxter was in a navy blue silk crepe de chine ensemble suit with a hat to tone."
