DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Hale by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Hale:
Baxter-70 and Baxter-6025 appear to represent the same person because: From my Baxter research I believe these two profiles are representing the same person, Hale Baxter. Profile Baxter-6025 is closest to my research findings, however, some of the children are listed under incorrect mother. Please review your sources and see if a merge should be completed. The correct spouses for children can then be edited. Respectfully and Thank you!
See notes under Marriage. A note found by a Baxter researcher in a Baxter family file in Kingsport Main Library suggested that Agnes Howell Bright was Hale's 2nd wife, a widow & daughter of Philip Howell. Since Mary Nancy Crawford Baxter died before the 1850 census & no death record or marriage record has surfaced, this is the only proof I have to go on. Their daughter Rhoda Baxter Armstrong's DC also names her mother as Nancy Crawford. I haven't been able to find which Crawford family she belonged to. Also, evidence in the T. Elmer Cox Library in Greeneville, TN showed that Hale was married a 3rd time, to another widow--jane Armstrong Beals. The thick file contained multi pages of docs concerning their divorce settlement.
