Biography

Ebenezar was born about 1765, date and parents as yet undetermined. (See Research notes).

Ebenezer married Elizabeth Burgess 19 Apr 1787, ^[1]Elizabeth's children were named in the probate records of her father, Jacob Burges, in 1807.^[2]

Ebenezer Baxter died sometime shortly before 19 March 1804 when administration on his estate was granted to his widow Elizabeth in Dennis.^[3] The inventory of the estate of Ebenezer Baxter, late of Dennis, was sworn to by his widow and administratrix on 08 May 1804. The estate included only personal property, no land or housing, and totaled $83.37.^[4] An accounting of administration was made on 10 May 1804 by Elizabeth Baxter, and an allowance to the widow of $71.37 was made.^[5]

Guardianship of the minor children of Ebenezer Baxter deceased of Dennis, namely Abigail, Rosanna and Ebenezer Baxter, was assigned to James Nickerson of Dennis in February 1807. The guardianship was due to the probate of the estate of the childrens' grandfather, Jacob Burges deceased.^[2]
