Miss Bayer was employed as a cook in the cafeteria of Smithsburg High School, Smithsburg, Md. She was a member of Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Antietam Congregation, Waynesboro. Miss Bayer is survived by four sisters, Nora J. Boone of Rocky Mount, Va., Frances J. King of Hagerstown, Md., and Julia M. Benedict and Esther S. Bayer, both of Waynesboro; four brothers, Harlan J. Bayer of Waynesboro, Daniel M. Bayer of Roanoke, Va., Samuel W. Bayer of Hagerstown, and Kenneth D. Bayer of Wirtz, Va.; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John B. Bayer, Paul D. Bayer and Joe G. Bayer. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Antietam Congregation, Wayne Highway North, Waynesboro, with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will follow in the adjacent church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The family requests the omission of flowers. Arrangements are by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
