He married Sidney Malinda Lewis on November 23, 1874, in Johnson, Kentucky [2]. They had seven children, one child died at birth in 1876. He died on December 2, 1936, in Paintsville, Kentucky, at the age of 83, and was buried in Hagerhill, Kentucky. [3]
