Biography

Winifred was born about 1872. Her birth was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1872 in the Banbury district.^[1]

In the 1881 census Winifred (age 8), Scholar, was the single daughter of William Baylis at 8 & 9, 8, Parsons Street, Banbury, Oxfordshire, England.^[2]

Winifred married Walter Steele on March 2nd 1897 in Grimsbury. Their marriage was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1897 in the Banbury district. Winifred's marriage was announced in the Northampton Mercury on 5 March 1897.^[3][4]

In the 1911 census Winifred (age 38) was the wife of Walter Steele in Highfield, Radley Road, Abingdon, Berkshire & Oxfordshire, England.^[5]

In the 1939 register Winifred, Incapacitated, was married at 354 Egremont Road, Petworth, Petworth R.D., Sussex, England. She was living with her daughter Doris and her husband and children, as well as Walter.^[6]

She passed away in 1941. Winifred's death (age 69) was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1941 in Petworth.^[7]
