↑ Source: #S18 Page: Mrs K M Nunn, Haverhill Echo dated Sept 29 1977 Data: Text: The death of Mrs Kathleen Mary Nunn, of 82 High Street, Haverhill occurred at a hospital in Leeds after she had been taking ill while spending a holiday with her son. CONT Mrs Nunn was born at 1 Rose Cottages, Withersfield Road, Haverhill in 1913, daughter of the late Arthur and Carried Baynes. Her father was a leather worker and made mostly horse saddles, with a shop in Queens Street. She married Mr Leslie Stephen Nunn, a master basket maker with a willow growing business in the town. Mr and Mrs Nunn lived at 6 The Pightle until after Mr Nunn's death in 1956. CONT It was in 1970 that Mrs Nunn moved to her present home. She worked at Ellis Baker's shop in her young days, and again after she was widowed. She also worked at Ashards in Queen Street (now Fowler's). CONT Being a Methodist Mrs Nunn took a full and active part in the work of the local church and had been a choir member for a number of years. Her death came as a shock to her family and to all that knew her. Her kind and friendly way brought her many friends, all of whom will miss her very much. CONT She leaves two sons, one a policeman in London, and the other a teacher in Leeds. CONT The funeral service at Haverhill Methodist Church was conducted by the Rev. G W Sharman with Mr Eric Radford as organist. The church was well filled with relatives and friends. The internment followed in the cemetery. CONT The mourners present were Mr Roger Nunn (also rep. his wife and family), Mr and Mrs J Nunn (son and daughter in law), Steven, Andrew, Michael, Helen (grandchildren), Mrs H Scrivener (sister), Mr A E Baynes (also rep.
