Note: 2021: It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Hélène Plouffe (née Bazinet), while she held our hands, on April 13th at the age of 66. We take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with the love of her life, our Dad, Randy Plouffe, predeceased in September 2019. Left to mourn are her ever-loving children: Kara Lefebvre (Gilles Faubert), Tracy Bayley (Brandon) and Ryan Plouffe (Renelle). Also left with a tremendous void are her precious and treasured grandchildren: Christian, Nikolas, Zakary, Kaelan, Avery, Mia, Pascale and Serge. Her great-grandchildren, Greyson and Amélia will grow up hearing of her bravery. Hélène will always be an inspiration and loved by her siblings, Roger Bazinet (Carmen), Lionel Bazinet (Monique), Anita Faubert (Gerry), Louise Bazinet (Jody Dawn),. Pamela Bazinet (Dan Duval) all of Greater Sudbury, and Denis Bazinet (Michelle) of Milton. Lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law Max Plouffe (Hellen) of Lively and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents Lucille Bazinet (Laframboise) and Lorio Bazinet and parents-in-law Vera Plouffe (Gereghty) and Orel Plouffe. Cherished lifelong friend of Patti and Kari Raaska of Guatemala. Hélène will be missed by many dear friends (too numerous to mention) who have been instrumental in maintaining her good spirits and whom the family thank for providing support, friendship and household help to Hélène during the past several months. Hélène was born and raised in the MacFarlane Lake area of Sudbury. She attended École secondaire MacDonald-Cartier then worked from home raising her children. Together with her family, she relocated to Timmins in 1986 and began work at McDonald's Restaurant a short time later. During her 30 years at McDonald's she made many close friends. Her customers and adored "regulars" will remember her sunny disposition, her sense of humour and her easy, dimpled smile. Hélène fought and lived with cancer for the last 13 years. She is the true definition of a warrior, having faced every uphill battle with headstrong determination, a positive attitude, a tremendous will to experience life's pleasures and an unwavering faith in God. No matter how grim her situation became, her motto was "It can always be worse.". Hélène had a wonderful sense of humour and a love for family gatherings: always the last to leave because she didn't want to miss out on any of the fun!. As sick as she was, she adamantly refused to miss-out on her grandchildren's events and she took immense pride in their accomplishments. Despite her long and serious illness, Hélène always looked her best and most people did not realize how sick she was. She was proud and all who knew of her daily battles will forever be in awe of her Herculean strength and endurance. Summertime was her favorite time of the year. She loved to bask in hot, sunny weather, have a glass of wine with Randy on the patio and enjoy a game of golf with her girls. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Houston for his compassionate and personalized care over the years. A special thank you to Dr. Jean-Luc Ethier and Manon Ethier for your expertise, thoughtful guidance and comforting sense of humour throughout Hélène's journey. Bayshore PSW Brittany Gagne went above and beyond during her visits with Mom and those extras never went unnoticed. Mom received excellent care during her final months on Med B and Hospice at TADH. Thank you to all the nurses, dietary and housekeeping staff who made Mom's final days a little brighter. Mom and Dad, give us strength to carry on without you. Your gifts of love, patience and attention to us kids have so positively impacted our lives and this is why we are left with such pain in our hearts. We know that even though you're not here physically, you will always be loving us, watching over us and protecting us. We will miss you everyday and we will love you forever xoxo... In light of the pandemic, a private family service will be held. [1]
