Biography

There appears to be some contention as to the facts of Abraham Beach. A citation[1] seems to indicate that he was born in 1770 to Justice Beach and Judith Bradshaw, however most family histories list his birthdate as 1764.

The 1820 Wilkes, North Carolina census for an Abraham Beach lists in the household a free white male 45 or over who may be Abraham.[2]

Another census in 1830 again lists this Abraham as being between 50 and 59. [3]

What we do know about Abraham is that that he was born to Justice and Judith Ann and lived in in the Burke, North Carolina area with his siblings: Benjamin, Sarah (1770-1823), Allie, Susannah, Enoch, William, Justice, Elijah, Isaac and Annie. Some other siblings sometimes attributed include a Melia or Mariah, but evidence to confirm these names

Most other genealogy sites list his wife as Nancy Anderson (b. 1796) and children: Juda (1816-1900), Rufus (1820-1871), Enoch (1820-1860), William (1825-1870), Elmira (1831-1910) and Minerva (1833-1852.)

Another wife, NANCY SARAH COLE (1796-1849), is also sometimes listed.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Abraham by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Abraham:
