James was born at Cohasset 27 Jun 1812.[1] He was the son of Caleb and Sally (Lambert) Beal.[2]

He married first Mary F Smith .[1]

He married second Hannah Churchill, widow of Martin Wilder.[1]

"Housewright."[1]

He lived on Main Street in South Hingham.[1]

He died 20 Oct 1883.[1]
