2020 - A memory from Granddaughter Jenny " My grandfather George Beale was into the violin and played in string quartets until his eightieth. In his little book, "Seventy Years in and Around Auckland "he writes of travelling to Thames with the Auckland Choral Society and Orchestra for the opening of the St George Church. While there he took advantage of the invitation to descend the Queen of Beauty mine in the company of William Baker Mine manager and the Hon. W. McCullough. "
