A 10 November 1850 letter from Jacob Hunker in Moscosmunes River, California, reported that Alex Beale and Thomas Beale were among Pittsburghers at Dry Creek, California.[1][2]

in the civil war, later made his home in

There is a Thomas Beale in the 1850 US Census at Freeport, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.[3] There is a Thomas Beal in the 1860 US Census at Roseburg, Douglas County, Oregon, who was born in Pennsylvania.[4] A FamilySearch tree assigns the Oregon Thomas to the Armstrong County, Pennsylvania Washington Beale family, but has a different death date and burial location from its Find a Grave record (Find A Grave: Memorial #34076620) than this profile’s Find a Grave record (Find A Grave: Memorial #54309016).
