Frederick, Maryland Book of Wills # 2, page 231 (found online at image page 627 of film 005081361). Note that name of the brother "Lisha Beall" named as co-Executor in the will is referred to as "Elisha Beall" in the probate, signed by George Murdock, Registrar. The other executor's real name was William Murdock Beall.

[From the fact that one of the witnesses to this will was my 3rd great granduncle John Hufford (son of Christian Hufford Sr. of Woodsboro, Md.) it would seem that Elizabeth likely lived in or near Woodsboro at the time she wrote her will, and that is confirmed by the fact that Mordecai Beall's dwelling plantation, devised to the widow Elizabeth in his will, was "Wood's Design."]

The suggestion in the prior version of this biography about her relationship with the Executors named in Elizabeth's will has been deleted, because they were actually her full brothers, sons of Nathaniel and Ann (Murdock) Beall. This Nathaniel was the son of William Beall (of Alexander) who married Elizabeth Magruder. Mordecai Beall's father William Beall (who married Sarah Magruder) was the son of Ninian & Ruth Beall; this Ninian being a son of the immigrant Alexander Beall. Thus Mordecai Beall and Elizabeth (Beall) Beall were second cousins on their respective paternal lines.

An interesting "migration pattern" connection is that my Hufford ancestors who were acquainted with the Mordecai Beall family in Woodsboro, Md. moved to the vicinity of Beallsville, Pa. The first brick house in Beallsville was built by my gg grandfather Peter Hufford. By the time Colmore wrote his will (1829) he was living in W. Bethlehem Township, just west of Beallsville.

Colmore devised to his sons John and William adjacent farms in Nottingham Township, Harrison County. One Theodore Beall, age 74, is found in adjacent Stock Twp. on the 1850 census. That and other factors (including a DNA discovery of Wanda Richards) suggest that Colmore was a cousin of Theodore's, though the exact relationship is unclear at the moment.

My best candidates right now would probably be William, Zachariah and James Magruder Beall, brothers of Mordecai, about whose marriages and descendants very little seems to be known.

The name of the subject needs to be corrected. This is "Collmore" Beall, not "Collman." See findagrave profile at https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/134519421/colmore-beall.
