Charles Bazil Beall was born sometime in 1823 in Ohio, according to his Find a Grave memorial,^[1] and also the 1850 U.S. Census, where he is listed as "Basil Beall," the name (and spelling) of his grandfather. ^[2]

He was the son of William Brooke Beall and Mary Long. ^[1] William Brooke Beall was the son of Basil Beall and Ariana Beall.
