Mabel Annie Beall was born in Walsoken, Norfolk, England on October 1, 1882.[1]
She was the daughter of John Beall and Maggie Hills. Mabel emigrated to Canada with her parents and younger sister in 1889 and another sister was born there but the family returned to England after a few years and settled in Yorkshire where Mabel's youngest sister was born. Mabel married Albert Birch at St. John the Baptist Church, Newington, Kingston-upon-Hull, England on August 1, 1898 at the age of 16 and they had ten children.
By 1901 they were living in Thorne, Yorkshire, with their first child.[2]
By 1911 they had settled at Linthwaite, Golcar in the Huddersfield district of Yorkshire.[3]
Mabel died at Golcar, Yorkshire on March 21, 1966.[4]

NoteThis seems to be the right record even though the name is given as Beales instead of Beall and the child is down as Mary instead of Mabel, but it is the nearest listed for the correct date. (See attached birth Certificate) Walsoken was transferred from the Wisbeach Registration District to the Kings Lynn District in 1939 which may account for that discrepancy. The date is confirmed by the GRO Birth Index

Beall-567 and Beall-694 appear to represent the same person because: Hi Jo,
I think we need to merge these profiles, you can do it or put me on the trusted list and I'll do it. I didn't think of Frances sister being Margaret's mother, but it is certainly possible. We will have to see where Mary is on the 1861 census.
I did live in England up until 1997 but now I live in Dublin Ireland. When did your family move to Australia? I mean which generation? I have lots of relatives in Australia, mostly from Harry Hills father-in-law. To add someone just click on add spouse, add children, add siblings add mother/father etc.
You will soon get in on it, you only learn by doing it, if you do anything wrong it can be put right.
