Eli Beaman was a native of Montgomery County, North Carolina. He was born in about 1813 and his parents left North Carolina in the early 1820s and settled in Owen County, Indiana.[1] Note: No documentation is known that specifically states when Briant and Mary Catherine Beaman left North Carolina, but the birth places of Eli's two brothers, John W and Bryant B Beaman help to pinpoint the approximate time the family went to Indiana. Eli Beaman was married twice. First to Terre Langdon, who was most likely a related to his mother. They were married on 03 November 1831 in Owen County, Indiana.[2]
